For my hubby on Valentines Day...
I was never a big fan of Valentines Day (and I'm still not particularly big on it). Leave it to me to be cynical about love even when I'm married. In my defense it isn't so much the love part of it that annoyed me, I'm all for romantic displays of affection, it's the gimickiness of Valentines Day. The idea that going out and buying your significant other a dozen red roses, a box of chocolates, and a sparkly diamond is supposed to be "romantic." Uh oh, here I go again. But this year it's a little different. I'm a married woman now and so I want to celebrate that with Will. Minus the roses, expensive gifts, and chocolates......okay I'll still take the chocolates. ;)
So here's a super cheesy Valentines Day poem to my favorite cheese ball...
Will,
Love is patient, love is kind
Like that time you picked me up in Long Beach after drinking too much wine.
It does not envy, it does not boast
When I was jobless you let me coast.
It is not proud, it is not rude
Even when you make me so mad that I flirt with other dudes.
It is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered
You always let me finish yelling before softly speaking.
It keeps no record of wrongs
Even though I am ALWAYS right
It always protects, always trusts
You have my back when it feels like no one else does.
It always hopes and it always preserves
A Husband like you I just don't deserve.
Happy Valentines Day to my studly hubby! Love you!
