My first Mother's Day
These last four months have been beautiful, exciting, emotional, joyful, exhausting, and well, just plain perfect. I have never had so much to be thankful for. Sometimes it still doesn't feel real that I AM A MOM, but Ruby is the absolute apple of my eye and each day I get to spend with her is a new and wonderful adventure. Yes, we've certainly had our ups and downs, good days and bad days, and you guys, postpartum hormones are no joke. But the moment she looks at me and flashes that big gummy grin, I am in heaven.
Today, as I celebrate my very first Mother's Day, I am going to try and remember to give myself grace during the rough patches, and to soak up every single moment, good AND bad. Because the most valuable thing I can teach my daughter in this life is to be kind to yourself and others, and the greatest way to do that is to lead by example. Motherhood is the most important and rewarding gift that I had ever been given, and I will never take that for granted.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the beautiful mamas out there!
