2015: A year in reflection.
A little late to the party, but I couldn't let all of the sweet weddings and clients from 2015 pass by without a recap. The 2015 year was different from any of the years before it, mainly because I re-entered the industry with a whole new set of challenges: being a working mom. After some precious time off with my new baby girl in the beginning of the year, I was ready to get back on the saddle and ride (to say the least). Don't get me wrong, I love being a mom and staying home with my sweet girl, but after months of being knee deep in diapers, baby spit-up, and breastmilk, it felt damn good to get out of the house and do something for myself. However, things behind the scenes were looking a bit different than I was used to. I now had to worry about pumping at weddings and well, if you've ever been to a wedding you know there's really not much downtime for us photographers. Thankfully, I was very upfront with all of my clients beforehand and they were all so wonderfully understanding and supportive. I also had amazing second shooters who had my back while I was stuffed away in my car, the bathroom, and closets (yes - I pumped in a closet). I also have to give some major props to my super hubby who stepped in on wedding days, taking his title as daddy very seriously. Our girl was not fond of the bottle nor could she be considered an "easy baby” by anyone’s standards, so he had some challenges of his own on wedding days. But, everyone came out alive and happy in the end and here we are in 2016, ready to rock it out all over again.
I have to say, I was incredibly lucky to have the clients I did in 2015. They were all incredibly supportive and lovely to work with. It really couldn't have been a better time for me jump back in.
To all of my amazing couples: I seriously love you all so damn much.
Now, for some of my favorite wedding photos of 2015...
