Los Angeles Maternity Photos // Gross Family

Taking photos of pregnant women is so empowering. I mean, what exemplifies strength more than a woman about to birth a human being?! Seriously. Gets me every time. And, to make matters sweeter, this photo session was with a family I absolutely adore! Blair, the beautiful mama-to-be and her first baby, Landry are people we hang with on the regular. Actually, my daughter Ruby and Landry are BFF's. So- that's pretty much just amazing. Kris is the proud dada, and basically the luckiest man alive to be surrounded by such beauties! This maternity session was shot in Griffith Park at the end of the Santa Monica Mountains. Have you been there? It's really a great spot for photos. The lush end-of-summer greens and natural landscape let all the right things take center stage (i.e. Blair's adorable bump and kick ass dress). Seriously, I am totally down with this dress, including the fact that she'll be able to rock this after giving birth (side bar: I may or may not have went out and purchased this dress right after our session. Thank you, Target!).

Landry was a showstopper as well. Lovin' those sandals and her understated bling (haha, you do what you gotta go sometimes)...but most importantly her pure adoration for her parents. The sweetness was palpable and made me want to rush home and squeeze my own little babe.

I can't wait for this family's newest addition to be born in September. And, how lucky am I that I get to take newborn photos when this bundle arrives!? Ah, I love my job! Stay tuned for more on this beautiful, growing family!
