The Weekly Collective: Grilling & Girl Time

Time is a tricky beast. One minute your sitting by the pool on a warm summers day playing dress-up with your barbie dolls while drinking a Yoo-Hoo, and the next your worrying about whether you'll save ten cents at the grocery store buying the corn on the cob rather than frozen in the bag.  Lately, it seems as if the days fly right by me before I can even remember what I had for breakfast. Next thing I know I'll be forty with kids, trying to remember what it was like to be a twenty-seven year old newly wed with the whole world at my fingertips. So in order to help document this extraordinary time in my life, I have decided to start a weekly blog post (on Mondays) reflecting on the previous week in all of it's awesome glory. I'll be focusing less on the photography aspect of my life (although there will be some of that as well), and more on the little things that make me smile in my day-to-day experiences. :) This also means that the photos will be a little less "fancy," as I tend not to lug along my big-girl camera with me every time I leave the house. :p

So, without futher ado- I give you the very first series of "The Weekly Collective!" YAY!

This week I had a little time to enjoy some of my favorite things. My friends, buying new shoes, and grilling (aka watching Will grill while I drink margaritas and play with the dog ;)).

One of my favorite things about summer is dinners hot off the grill.  I get a craving, and Will reluctantly acquiesces by executing it on the grill. I just stand behind him wiping the drool off my face.

One of my best friends, Marcella, (very) recently moved to Maryland.  She flew back home on Thursday for business and was sweet enough to squeeze in a little girl time with me and our other friend Drew at the Farmer's Market at UCI on Saturday morning for some strawberry shopping.

Earlier this week we got to meet the newest addition to our good friends' Kaysha and Johns' home- Enzo the kitty! They adopted him from the Irvine Animal Shelter and he's as cute as can be! We introduced him to our dog Suki and he was fearless. Unfortunately Suki was terrified of him. Haha.

In honor of summer, I recently purchased these awesome coral colored Tom's! I love wearing them with jeans and a white t-shirt because well, they ROCK!

On Sunday I went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market with my friend Drew.  I got a cute vintage frame to hang my jewelry in (one of my many DIY projects for the summer) and some other goodies. Then Drew took me to Le Pain Quotidien for lunch and I fell instantly in love with it's fresh Parisian charm, cuisine, and atmosphere.

{I had the smoked salmon and chive omelet on the left (drooooool) and Drew had the ham & gruyere on a homemade croissant (right) which was a buttery flakey version of heaven.}

Until next week! Happy Monday!
